Knights Finish 10th at AAC Fall Championships

The Men's Golf team traveled to Seneca, SC to play in the AAC Fall Championships at Cross Creek Plantation. The contest ran from Sunday to Tuesday, as the St. Andrews men's team had some gutsy perfrormances from the crowded field of talented golfers. Although called the "AAC Fall Championships," the competition can be viewed as a preview to where teams will rank and qualify come April at the NAIA Direct Championships.

The Knights were able to place 10th out of the 16 teams that participated at the contest. With some country renowned golf programs in competition like Dalton State, South Carolina-Beaufort, and Coastal Georgia, the Knights will be happy to walk away with their placement as they edged out numerous AAC schools such as the likes of Milligan, CIU, Bluefield, Montreat, and Columbia,

Seima Nishihara (Tokyo, Japan) ended the three day tournament as the Knights top golfer as he finished with a final scoreline of 226 (+10) good enough to place him T-17th out of the field of 92 golfers. Seima's best day came on Monday, day two where he posted a 73 (+1) to help cement himself in a top 20 placement.

Coming next for the Knights was Ezequiel Ruiz (Escobar, Argentina) as he placed at T-39th for his coYnsistent shooting across the three days of action. Ruiz finished at a total score of 237 (+21) while his best day in the course also was on Tuesday as he shot a 77 (+5) to assist in his placement in a top half position at the tourney.

Ramon Fedz-Cano Alda (Madrid, Spain) and Kole Washleski (Douglassville, PA) were next in line for the Knights as the pair enjoyed solid afternoons on the green throughout the tournement. Alda finished with a final score of 240 (+24) and had an amazing day one where he posted a 76 (+4), For his efforts, Alda placed t-47th among the tough crowd of golfers. Washleski wasn't too far behind as he wrapped up the contest with a final score of 241 (+25) to place right behind Alda and claim the 50th placing at the course.

Rounding out the top five was Noah Surth (Berlin, Germany) who ended with a 243 (+27) scoreline for his efforts and shot a consistent 75, 83, 85 which was good enough to place him t-56th.

Remo Scholl (Hessen, Germany) and Joe Hamilton (Sparta, KY) rounded out the final two placements for the Knights as Scholl finished his tournament with a score of 245 (+29) a with a 65th place finish while Hamilton shot a 257 (+41) to end with a t-80th placing.
