Men's Soccer Takes on TMU for 1st Round Conference Tournament

Battle Tested – St. Andrews University Men’s Soccer

And just like that, we’re back. This past weekend your St. Andrews men’s soccer team not only clinched a postseason berth with a win over Tennessee Wesleyan, but for the first time in several years, will also host the first round of the post-season against Truett-McConell. St. Andrews men’s soccer team ends the season with a nine win, five lose, and two draw record, which is an improvement in every statistical category from their previous year’s record. When asked about the peaks and valleys of the long season, and what it meant to host a home playoff berth, Head Coach Steve Clack stated, “We are delighted to be back in the play-offs and have trained hard to earn the opportunity to host. This is a wonderful reward for the player's hard work as we have had to overcome some adversity with injuries and certainly some long travels to Kentucky, through Georgia and Tennessee.” St. Andrews will no doubt have to bring that resilient mentality into this week’s opponent as their hands will full against a nine-win Truett-McConnell team coming off back-to-back draws against both Reinhart and University of Pikesville. When asked about the first-round match up, Coach Clark stated, “The AAC has had 5 different programs nationally ranked or receiving votes, so the competition has been fierce, and the play-offs will be even tougher.  We play Truett McConnell, who themselves are having a great season, well coached and no doubt are also excited to be here in the play-offs.” As the men’s soccer team begins their quest for an ACC Championship, we at St. Andrews University are nothing but proud, excited, and ready to cheer them on and electrify Knights Fields with our rabid fans on Friday Nov. 3rd. You won’t want to miss out.
