Men's volleyball overpowered by visiting Reinhardt Eagles

Laurinburg, N.C. - The Knights men's volleyball team dropped their home conference matchup against the second-place Appalachian Athletic Conference Reinhardt Eagles Friday evening, 19-25, 21-25, 21-25. 

The Knights struggled on offense, with the Eagles outscoring the home team in kills, 46-29. Additionally, they finished with 23 errors to the Eagles 16.

Deonte Brewer, Hugo Gonzalez-Gutierrez, and Hazem Nabil each logged six kills each to lead the way on offense for the Knights, while Rodolpho Biegelmeyer and Gabriel Gutierrez scored 14 kills a piece for the Eagles. Victor Pachecho supported the momentum with eight kills of his own.  Knights career record holder in assists Dakota Hotaling, who recently broke the record with his 3,012 assist on February 9, recorded an additional 23 assists during the matchup, staying consistent in his play. 

Hotaling was strong on defense as well, battling for 11 digs on the day, while Nabil followed behind with six digs of his own., and Alex Vasquez-Sanchez finished with four digs. 

The Knights record moves to 15-8, 3-4. They hit the court again tomorrow, March 16, for another conference matchup against Life University at 1 p.m. EST.
