Bollinger Leads Knights With Nine Goals in Victory Over Montreat

LAURINBURG, N.C. - St. Andrews earned a 21-18 home victory over Montreat in an Appalachian Athletic Conference women's lacrosse match on Wednesday afternoon. The victory pushes the Knights record to 1-4 on the season with a 1-0 mark in the AAC, while the Cavaliers drop to 4-3, and 0-1 in conference play.

"After playing a couple of tough games already this season, we are excited to take home our first conference win," said head coach Stephanie Blakely. "We knew coming into today Montreat was going to be another competitive game, but we came out with the intention of winning the draw and pushing the tempo."

The Knight victory marks the first career win for head coach Blakely. Skii Bollinger (SR/Wilmington, NC) led the way with a new career-high nine goals and 14 draw controls, while Kennedy Martin (SO/Wilmington, NC) added six goals, three assists, and 10 ground balls.

Asiah Dewberry (JR/Avon Park, FL) was the anchor on defense for St. Andrews as she caused four of the 19 Montreat turnovers. The Knights outshot the Cavs 56-34 and finished with 42 groundballs as a team.

Chloe Isola (SO/Oviedo, FL) finished with 13 saves and two ground balls.

The Knights will now rest before heading to Chowan on Mar. 12 for a 3:30 pm start.
