Knights Put Away Brenau in an AAC Matchup, 24-4

GAINESVILLE, GA. - The St. Andrews women's lacrosse team put up 38 shots in their 24-4 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) victory over Brenau on Wednesday evening. The Knights now improve to 4-6 overall and 3-2 in conference action.

St. Andrews had seven different goal scorers in the win over the Tigers.

Freshman Lexi Sardinas (FR/Cary, N.C.) led the way with seven goals on nine shot attempts. Kennedy Martin (SO/Wilmington, NC) and Asiah Dewberry (JR/Avon Park, FL) contributed goals while leading the team with six and four ground balls respectively. Faith Herrera (SR/Sevierville, TN) and Skii Bollinger (SR/Wilmington, NC) added three goals, while Alia Loydd (JR/Lake Wales, FL) finished with two shots between the pipes.

The Knights rode a 13-2 advantage into the halftime break. St. Andrews added five goals in the opening period and later exploded for eight points in the second period. The Knight defenders held Brenau to nine shots in the first half.

After the break, the St. Andrews defense remained stout and allowed just two shots and two goals the rest of the game. Offensively, the Knights added five goals in the third and six in the final period.

Dewberry and Bollinger finished the game with two caused turnovers apiece.

Marlen Bravo (JR/North Myrtle Beach, SC) finished with four saves and four goals allowed in goal.

St. Andrews will now host Webber International on Saturday, April 2 at 12:00 pm.
