Knights Compete at Trojan Open at Mt. Olive University over the Weekend

The St. Andrews Knights women's wrestling team continued their early season 2022-23 campaign with an in-state road trip to Mt. Olive University in Mt. Olive, NC for the Trojan Open.

The event featured four schools in competition including, Mt. Olive, St. Andrews, Greensboro College, and Lincoln Memorial. There were also multiple unattached wrestlers in competition at the event as well.

Tonya Flournory (Raleigh, NC) represented the Knights in th 123 weight class and went 1-2 in that division, including a decision by Technical Fall (2:10) over Mt. Olive's Jillian Timberlake. Flournory also competed in a match at the 130 weight class where she lost by Fall (1:32) from Chloe Lawler of Mt. Olive.

Gabrielle Holloway (Washington, DC) also was in competition for the Knights as she wrestled in the 155 pound weightclass and impressed everyone on the day by going 3-0 in her matches. Holloway was able to use her strength to muscle her opponents to the mat, and won all three matches via pin.
