St. Andrews women's wrestling team scores victory over Montreat College, men suffer narrow loss

Laurinburg, N.C - The St. Andrews women's wrestling team scored a 20-10 victory Friday, January 19, on Harris Court in front of their home fans against visiting Montreat College. 

109 lb. - Jillian Ellis won due to a forfeit. (5-0)

130 lb.- Tonya Flournory won over Charlotte Wheeler (5-0) 

136 lb. - Markia Mingo Strain won over Marissa Delacruz (4-1)

170 lb. - Gabrielle Holloway won due to forfeit (5-0)

The women will next compete at the Indiana Tech Invitational on Thursday, January 25. 

The St. Andrews men's wrestling team lost their dual against Montreat College, 19-25. 

141 lb.- James Roberts won over James Roberts (4-0)

149 lb. - David Coptsias won over Braden Wharton (3-0)

174 lb. - Franco Cuccurelo won over Ashton Medeiros (6-0) 

184 lb. - Akazee Kum Akab a sei won due to forfeit (6-0)

The men will next compete at the AAC Duals match on Friday, January 26.
