TESSA SMITH

 

 

Tessa Smith, a 2017 graduate of St. Andrews University, has begun her first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the women’s volleyball team. Following completion of her degrees in psychology and forensic science, she began work on a master’s degree in the school’s graduate program.

 

Smith is a native of Jacksonville, Florida where from the age of 12-18, she competed in club volleyball on the national level in tournaments across the United States. She has coached multiple age groups in club volleyball in Jacksonville and began a junior club team in Scotland County, the home county of St. Andrews University, where her teams won multiple tournaments.

 

She began her playing career for the Knights in 2013. The team’s win totals increased from 13 her freshman year to 18 her sophomore year to 22 her junior year, and the team won 20 during her senior year. She finished her career holding the school record for kills and second for digs. Her awards while playing for the Knights were first team all-conference, most outstanding player, and outstanding senior.
