
St. Andrews Battles Back for Series Win Against Milligan
Game 1:
St. Andrews (NC) fell 4-2 to Milligan (TN) on March 21, 2025, in the first game of their series. The Knights took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, thanks to a 2-run homer from Aiden Wilson, but struggled to generate offense after that. Despite a strong start from pitcher Noah Sorrells, who threw 6 innings with 2 earned runs and 3 strikeouts, St. Andrews couldn't hold onto the lead. Milligan tied the game in the 5th and 6th innings, then took control with back-to-back solo homers in the 8th.
Defensive mistakes hurt the Knights, as they committed four errors throughout the game. The offense, despite a few solid performances from Garrett Hamby and Garrett Wolff, couldn't break through Milligan's pitching after the first inning.
Game 2:
St. Andrews (NC) defeated Milligan (TN) 18-10 in a high-scoring game on March 22, 2025. After falling behind early, St. Andrews responded with a four-run 4th inning and exploded for nine runs in the 6th, highlighted by a grand slam from Josh Zambito. Key offensive contributors included Zambito (4 RBIs), Isaiah Martin (3 hits, 3 runs), and Garrett Hamby, who had 2 RBIs and walked 4 times. The pitching effort was solid, with Bryton Williams throwing 4.2 innings of 2 earned runs and Jonathan Foster shutting down Milligan for the final 3.2 innings.
Game 3:
St. Andrews (NC) earned a 4-2 victory over Milligan (TN) on March 22, 2025, in the thrid game of their series. The Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a two-run single from Isaiah Martin, which scored Kanan Treece and Josh Zambito. Milligan responded with a run in the 5th, but St. Andrews extended their lead in the 7th when Michael Royston singled, driving in Martin and Adrian Ojea for a 4-1 advantage. Milligan would score once more in the 7th, but could not catch up as St. Andrews held on for the win.
Tyler Barfield picked up the win for the Knights, pitching 7 strong innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, and striking out 3. The Knights' defense was solid, committing just one error, and their pitching kept Milligan's offense in check despite the Buffaloes getting 6 hits. With the win, St. Andrews improved to 14-10 on the season and 7-7 in the AAC.
