
St. Andrews Sweeps Voorhees in Doubleheader Victory
Game 1:
St. Andrews delivered an impressive 10-1 victory over Voorhees University. The team's offense exploded after the third inning, starting with a two-run double by Aiden Wilson in the third. They added another run in the fourth and then scored six more in the following two innings, with Garrett Hamby, Aiden Wilson, and Bubba Pope all driving in multiple runs. Isaiah Martin's sacrifice fly in the sixth brought in another run to cap off the scoring. On the mound, St. Andrews' pitchers, led by R. Cleary, who earned the win, limited Voorhees to just one run on four hits. CJ Harrison, Tanner Carpenter, and Patrick Linck each contributed to the strong pitching performance.
Game 2:
In the second game, St. Andrews defeated Voorhees University 10-4 in a dominant performance. The game was tight early, with St. Andrews taking a 1-0 lead in the first, but Voorhees responded with a run in the third to tie it. However, St. Andrews quickly regained control with a two-run third inning, highlighted by a sacrifice fly from Eric Cantu. The Knights offense exploded in the fifth and sixth innings, as Caden Santucci and Bryson Bebber each had multi-RBI hits, and the team capitalized on several passed balls.
Looking ahead, the Knight will travel to Pikeville for a 3 game series.
