Bio

Randy Hernandez has worked on the St. Andrews Athletic's Staff for over a decade. He arrived on the SAU athletics staff in 2008, working as the head game/facilities manager for all Knights athletic events, the strength and confition coach for various sports, and a resident director.

In his time at St. Andrews, Coach Hernandez has also served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team, 2008-2011, the assistant coach of the women's soccer team from 2010-12, and as the interim head coach of the women's soccer team for the spring 2010 semester.

Hernandez joined the SAU staff after graduating from Richmond Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in 2008. Hernandez continued to work towards his Bachelor’s Degree while coaching at SAU and earned a BA in Sports and Recreation at St. Andrews in 2010. Hernandez has also recently earned a Master's Degree in Physical Education at UNC Pembroke in 2015.

The Bronx, New York, native brings a local connection to the SAU hoops program having played for the Laurinburg Institute basketball team in 2003-04. Prior to that, Hernandez played high school and club basketball in New York City.

Hernandez currently resides in Southern Pines, NC with his wife, Tricia, and sons Vincent, Antonio, and Noah.
