Men's Volleyball falls in second round of Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament

Laurinburg, N.C. - The Knights men's volleyball team fell in the second round of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) finals to the Reinhardt Eagles, 13-25, 12-25, 26-28, ending their bid for a conference championship.

Hazem Abdelghafar continued his offensive leadership he showed all season into conference action, clocking six kills of his own. Deonte Brewer and Khushpreet Sandhu followed behind him, each adding five kills of their own. Hugo Gonzalez-Guttierez also added four kills to the team tally.

Knights career assist record holder Dakota Hotaling stayed solid during the Knights campaign to take down their AAC rivals, logging 20 assists to continue his domination of category. But it was not enough for the relentless offensive aggression shown by their opponents.

Alex-Vasquez Sanchez battled it out on the defensive side of the ball, recording eight of the teams 32 digs. Brewer, Hotaling, and Abdelghafar added five digs of their own in an attempt to stymie the Eagles' attacks.

The Knights finish their season 22-10, 7-6, overall, finishing third place in the final AAC conference results.
