Male, Female Knights wrestlers receive NAIA Scholar All-American Awards
Laurinburg, N.C.- Both male and female Knights wrestlers have been named recipients of the prestigious NAIA Scholar All-American Awards from the National Wrestling Coaches Association this week.
Two male athletes were named to the list, while four female athletes were named to the list.
Male:
-David Coptsias : Raeford, NC (Sports Performance, Health, and Fitness)
-Gerard Ricciuto : Montgomery, NY ( Master of Arts in Education)
Female:
-Gabrielle Holloway: Washington, D.C. (Biology)
-Teresa Dawn: (Forensic Science with concentration in Psychology)
-Jillian Ellis: Charlotte, NC (Communications)
-Tonya Flourory: Raleigh, NC (Sport, Performance, Health and Fitness)
"Im extremely proud of them for all their hard work," Wrestling Head Coach Marquise Camp. "It's just as important to me as a coach to see them succeed in the classroom as on the mat. It something I try to instill in all of my athletes here at St. Andrews. I want to see them successful once their wresting days are over and lead productive lives."
