Bio

Marquise Camp was hired as the Knights head wrestling coach in  September 2022. The Florence, SC resident currently heads up both the men's and women's program. 

Camp came to the Knights program with 12 years of head coaching experience at the high school level, with his last position coming at South Florence High School for the 2021-2022 season, where he coached one Region AAAA Individual Champion, two AAAA Individual Lower State Champions, State Qualifiers, and All-State Wrestlers. He was also named the 2021 Region Six AAAA Coach of the Year. 

Prior that that, he served at Ashley Ridge High School in Summerville, SC, from 2018-2020, where he coached eight Region Individual Champions and four AAAAA State Qualifiers. Before that, he was at Westside High School in Anderson, SC, from 2016-2018. He was named the Anderson Area Coach of the Year for 2016-2017 and coached six individual Anderson County Champions. 

He also served at Berea High School in Greenville, SC, from 2012-2016, and then at Greer High School from 2009-2012. 

During his first two seasons at St. Andrews, Camp has seen his hard work in revamping the Knights program, seeing the men's program finish with a 6-14 record, the most wins in school history. On the women's side, he coached Gabby Holloway to All-American status, the first in school history in either program. 

Camp holds several wrestling coaches certifications: South Carolina USA Wrestling Coaches Director, and a Silver/Bronze Certified USA wrestling Coach. 

He is also a 10 year veteran of the United States Army National Guard (2002-2010).

Camp graduated from Spartanburg Methodist College in 2005 with an Associate of Arts and then from Limestone University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.
